Banana Oat Muffins

I discovered Hannah’s blog honey & jam just recently and was instantly captured by her stunning photos. Hannah, who is only 19 years old, has an insane amount of photography skills! There are few people who can truly capture a feeling through food photography. But, I find that her photos very often invoke a sense of peace and contentment. That, along with her sweet personality, makes her blog a pleasure to visit, every single time. So, grab yourself a hot beverage, curl up in front of your computer screen and enjoy Christmas with honey & jam.

What is the earliest Christmas Memory that you can recall?

I was probably 6 or 7, I remember tip toeing down the hall towards our living room, peeking through a crack in the door and seeing a brand new pink bicycle under the tree. I could hardly sleep the rest of the night!

What do you look forward to the most this time of year?

I most look forward to the christmas music, buying gifts for people and christmas dinner – all my favorite foods in one place! I also really love watching christmas movies, It’s a Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th Street, and my personal favorite, Elf.

What is your favourite Christmas recipe?

I don’t know that I have a favorite, because I like to try new stuff every year. Last year it was a delicious custardy pear pie, and this year a orange chocolate cake!

What does your perfect Christmas Dinner Consist of?

Ham! I don’t like turkey at Christmas, it’s for thanksgiving! I love a good ham with a yummy glaze. Lots of green bean casserole, I know most people don’t like it, but I wait all year for that simple dish of green beans, cream of mushroom and fried onions. I love it so much!

Did you ever believe in Santa?

I didn’t! My parents never really told us much about Santa, I was raised with the Biblical christmas story.

What is your favourite Christmas song?

I have so many, I adore Christmas music. I really love “Have yourself a merry little Christmas” even though it’s a bit sad, and “The Christmas Song” might be perfect. I also really love “O Holy Night” and “Joy the the World”.

Make these waffles (pictured above) for Christmas morning! They are delicious and you can make them the night before. Super easy!
